The Summer Slam Shootout is an inshore tournament for ladies and gentlemen. All scoring will be done by the official weighmaster Bob Wasno at the Pink Shell Beach Resort and Spa Marina on Fort Myers Beach. Winners will be determined by the highest total weight scored per fish caught per eligible species. The official and final rules will be provided and covered at the official Captains Meeting Friday night September 24th 2010. All Anglers are responsible for having knowledge of the tournament rules and applicable Florida State Fishing Laws. The Caloosa Tournament Series may again be a televised tournament. All participants agree to make their boat and team available to cameramen and camera boats during the entirety of any Caloosa Tournament Series Event.
Weigh Station Hours Are: 12:00-5:00 pm
Weights will be awarded only for fish caught and released in good condition. Every effort should be made to assure the live release of all fish. Redfish, Snook, Trout and Snapper will be counted based on the heaviest weight in each species.
Official tournament start time, with lines in the water, is 7:00 AM. Official tournament end time, with lines out of water is 5:00 PM. All teams must be in the weigh-in line at the weigh station by the 5:00pm horn blast. No lines are allowed in water from 9:00 PM the evening of the Captains Rules Meeting, and time between call of lines out of water and lines in water after first day of fishing. This includes “bait fishing”, such as Ladyfish. No passing of anything from boat to boat during tournament hours. (7:00 AM -5:00 PM daily)
The Caloosa Catch & Release is an inshore tournament. All fish must be caught with rod & reel, hook & line. Fish caught by any other means do not count as a tournament fish. Line test is angler’s choice. No line restriction. Baits: fly, live bait, natural baits, and artificial lures are allowed.
All boats must stay 50 feet away from other vessels, with the exception of pass fishing, breakdown or emergency. Holding of fishing holes or chumming of holes by another boat is not allowed. Breaking any of these rules is strictly prohibited. Any team or team member breaking any of these rules will result in disqualification for the whole team, and possibly for the entire Caloosa Tournament Series.
The tournament phone line for questions or problems is 239-738-6222
These rules are subject to change and will be updated as needed.
