The 20th Anniversary of the Caloosa Catch and Release will be filmed by the World Fishing Network in High-Def on June 5th and 6th. The show will be aired starting in late July early August.

The Captains meeting begins poolside. All tournament rules will be reviewed, new rules announced and questions can be asked.
6:00-8:00am - CHECK-IN – PINK SHELL MARINA
Check-in at the dock, receive scoring bags, pick-up lunches provided by Artistic Deli, Culligan Water and Ice.
7:00am - LINES IN THE WATER
Anglers begin tournament fishing.

Those teams participating in the “Hooter’s Catch the Big Ones Redfish Bonanza” begin bringing redfish in to be weighed.

The auction begins poolside with dinner and a variety of live and silent auction items with proceeds benefiting FGCU’s athletic scholarships program.

The Caloosa Tournament Series is a televised tournament. All participants agree to make their boat and team available to cameramen and camera boats during the entirety of any Caloosa Tournament Series Event. All anglers are required to sign a release prior to participating in any Caloosa Tournament Series Event
These rules are subject to change and will be updated as needed.
The official and final rules will be provided and covered at the Caloosa Catch and Release June 4, 2009 - during the Captains Meeting. All Anglers are responsible for having knowledge of the tournament rules and Florida State Fishing Laws.
The Caloosa Catch & Release is an inshore tournament for ladies and gentlemen. All scoring will be done on the anglers honor. Winners will be determined by the highest total points scored for fish caught per eligible species.
Points will be awarded only for fish caught and released in good condition. Every effort should be made to assure the live release of all fish. Snook, Redfish and Trout will be awarded points at the base rate of one (1) point per inch for fish caught. Oversized fish may be photographed and scored. Measurements will be rounded up to the nearest 1/ 4 inch. Culling is permitted. Anglers may catch fish to fill their scorecards. The two largest fish caught (per each species) will count toward scores. No more than a tournament limit of fish will be counted.
Pick up official scoring bags from Tournament Officials at team check-in each morning between 6-8am at the Pink Shell Marina.
Tournament Check-in is from 6:00 AM-8:00 AM. Teams will be staged at start point and checked in at The Pink Shell Beach Resort and Spa weigh station which is located at the marina. Official tournament start time, with lines in the water, is 7:00 AM. Official tournament end time, with lines out of water is 5:00 PM. All teams must have turned in their scorecard bags or be within 100yds of the dock by 5:00 horn blast.
The Caloosa Catch & Release is an inshore tournament. All fish must be caught with rod & reel, hook & line. Fish caught by any other means do not count as a tournament fish. Line test is angler’s choice. No line restriction. Baits: fly, live bait, natural baits, and artificial lures are allowed.
No lines are allowed in water from 9:00 PM the evening of the Captains Rules Meeting, and time between call of lines out of water and lines in water after first day of fishing. This includes “bait fishing”, such as Ladyfish. No passing of anything from boat to boat during tournament hours. (7:00 AM -5:00 PM daily) All boats must stay 50 feet away from other vessels, with the exception of pass fishing, breakdown or emergency. Holding of fishing holes or chumming of holes by another boat is not allowed. Breaking any of these rules is strictly prohibited. Any team or team member breaking any of these rules will result in disqualification for the whole team, and possibly for the entire Caloosa Series.
Tournament Officials will monitor marine channel 69. The tournament phone line for questions or problems is 239-671-9347. Holding of fishing holes or chumming of holes by another boat is not allowed.
Two slot redfish per day. Your two heaviest slot redfish weighed between the 2 days of fishing wins.
